Process

Although experts in certain specialist methods, we pride ourselves on our flexibility and all-round pool of knowledge. Our flexibility allows us to offer expert advice and services in many general projects such as the removal and repositioning of internal walls, first and second stage plastering, hardwood flooring and bathroom and kitchen removal and installation.

Planning

When planning your re-decorating you should allow plenty of time for our visit to your building to estimate the work and to tailor it to your specific needs. Because our business has been built on recommendation, we are generally very busy. Please try to book our services early to avoid being disappointed. Your work is important to us and we always give each job our full attention through to its completion.

Preparation

This is the most important part of re-decorating. We are traditional decorators who hve been taught by the old school of decorators. We are sure you know that careful preparation is the only way to ensure a traditional high quality finish. Because there are so many different kinds of surface to prepare, we always prefer to look at the work to be done. Then you will be given a full specification as part of the estimate. Thorough preparation is always messy but we have many dustsheets to help combat this.

Plastering

Older properties, with lath and plaster ceilings/walls, often have small holes that need patch plastering. We can carry this out for you. Because we have years of experience working on period houses, we know how to overcome most age problems and can repair all kinds of surfaces.

Painting

The preparation is all-important; on exteriors, paint will be burned off where necessary and the bare wood primed. Internal painting, whether on ceilings, walls or woodwork, must always be filled and rubbed down in order to obtain the desired finish. An undercoat and a full-bodied gloss should then be applied.
